We discovered this after we had updated our Quicktime but could no longer play back KidPix movies. We had to revert to an older version of Quicktime. Regarding your problem with the mp4 playing on Quicktime with no sound. A friend of mine recently had the same problem and found it was corrected by upgrading the version of Quicktime.
